WISCA BOARD

All persons accepting positions on the Board of Directors must commit to (1) active participation in, and full support of the activities and goals of the Association; and (2) bring to the board his or her talents and skills or connections to do the same.

The Board of Directors consists of 7 voting members which includes officers (President, President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer and the Immediate Past President) and 3 At-LargOrganizational Member representatives. Only one representative from each Organizational Member of the Association is eligible to serve as a Director at any one time.

Board meetings are expected to held every-other month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Board meetings are general 60-minutes, and held virtually (unless otherwise decided). Board members are also encouraged to participate on committees, attend member events and support association initiatives as available.


OFFICERS

The President serves as the chief executive officer of the Association, providing leadership and oversight of its affairs under the direction of the Executive Committee. The President presides over Association meetings, communicates important matters to the membership, executes authorized documents on behalf of the Association, appoints and oversees staff or agents as needed, and performs other duties assigned by the Executive Committee. To be eligible for election, the President must have served at least one (1) year on the Board of Directors as a Director.

The President-Elect performs the duties of the President in the President's absence and succeeds to the Presidency if the President is unable to complete the term or at the conclusion of the President's term. To be eligible for election, the President-Elect must have served at least one (1) year on the Board of Directors as a Director.

The Secretary/Treasurer, through the Executive Director or in their absence, is responsible for maintaining meeting minutes and corporate records, ensuring required notices are provided, overseeing the Association's financial records and funds, and performing the duties of the office as assigned by the President or Executive Committee. If required, the Secretary/Treasurer shall provide a bond for the faithful performance of these duties. To be eligible for election, the Secretary/Treasurer must have served at least one (1) year on the Board of Directors as a Director.

The Immediate Past President will serve as an ex-officio, voting member of the WISCA Executive Committee and a voting member of the Board of Directors for a one year period following his or her term as President. The Immediate Past President will serve as the Association historian.

Education Committee

The Education Committee is an ad hoc committee of organizational members who help plan WISCA education programs and activities. The Committee is led by a board-appointed chair and meets monthly. Committee members are asked to help assess members’ educational interests, recommend speakers and help promote events. Committee members meet monthly for up to 1-hour; meetings are held virtually. Additional time between meetings may be needed to review materials, outreach (to members, speakers and sponsors) and onsite event support (moderate sessions).
