WISCA Action Alert

WISCA leaders have been working with state legislators to introduce an ASC assessment transparency bill. The legislation would require an annual report to the legislature on the ASC assessment program. This would include an accounting of the programs found. All information will remain confidential with no center specific information released.

Right now, the bill is circulating in the legislature and we are trying to find co-sponsors. Calls to your district legislators are the most important thing we can do to get a legislator to sign on to the bill.
Members are asked to contact their legislator and simply request that they sign on to the Ambulatory Surgery Center transparency bill. The deadline for co-sponsors is Friday, January 29th at noon! So calls or e-mails must be made in the next 24 hours.

Please let us know if you’ve made a contact so that we can keep track. This is very important.

Here is a sample script/e-mail:

Hi my name is xxxxxxxx, from xxxxxxxxx Center.

I am asking that Senator/Representative xxxxxxxx co-sponsor the Ambulatory Surgery Center transparency bill authored by Senator Moulton and Representative Rohrkaste.

This bill is important for your local surgery center because it helps us better understand how our tax money is being collected and used.

Thank you, will you please contact me back after you’ve talked to the legislator to let me know if in fact he/she did sign on (or if e-mail) please let me know if my legislator did in fact sign on to the bill.

If you need to know who your legislators are or have any other questions please contact the WISCA office.
